Intermediate Adult Tap Course

FOR WHO

This course is suitable for male and female tappers who have experience in tap dance and are returning to dance. No under 18 – Adults only. (For beginners see beginners course and for childrens classes please see our graded tap levels or contact us.) Ask for more info.

WHAT YOU GET

2 hrs a week group lesson with a maximum of 7 dancers. Personal attention. 1 hr private lesson included.

Learn and recap intermediate tap steps like Bombershay, Shim Sham Routine, Timesteps, Paddle & Rolls, Cramp Rolls Riffs, etc.

Dance from music from every era like big band, rock, pop from 1920s to the 2020’s, including jazz standards such as Girl From Ipanema and Sweet Georgia Brown.

Learn a little history of tap steps and jazz vernacular such as Shorty George, Boogie Woogie.

Learn to dance with a hat and a cane.

Learn a little about music and anatomy directly related to tap dance and how to take care of your feet.

Certificate on completion.

Mark Tadford is a dynamic Tap, Contemporary, Jazz and Urban Hip Hop teacher with over 25 years experience. He has taught countless adult classes as well as children and professionals and trained teachers. Mark is also the director and founder of RhythMETHOD DanceCONNECTIVE, a dance association that promotes dance and provides exam syllabi and teacher qualifications. Mark’s Dance School has been going since 1989.

REQUIREMENTS

Tap dance requires very little except loose comfortable clothing and a pair of tap shoes. Tap shoes preferred are full sole, lace up, tap shoes. BLOCH shoes are recommended. If you need advice on tap shoes please contact us. We would like to ensure that your money is well spent.
